The leaves glow under the morning sun

My name is Barbara Zarrella. My blog is a selection of thoughts from my life experiences. I hope that they may interest you, perhaps stimulate your thoughts a bit. I am not a self-help site, but because of physical circumstances, I have been traveling on a journey to restore my inner self, both physically and mentally. I have done a great deal of research on this and it is here I will share what I have learned.  I also include articles about subjects I have learned during my years as a teacher and as a parent, that may benefit you or others. I am a senior and I am starting on a new journey in life. I see, from reading other blogs that I have much to learn. I know I will enjoy this new direction in my life and I hope to meet many new friends along the way.

Life is good.  I am now a ten-year survivor of breast cancer.  Yahoo!  I have a great partner who is sharing my life with me. Elliot has brought laughter back into my life. My pride and joy are my three children and their other halves.. all grown, of course, as well as my two grandchildren.

I am still active as an adjunct instructor at Indian River State College, in the certificate course area of Office Administration. We teach people of all ages and backgrounds how to redirect their lives and learn new skills.  It is a very rewarding feeling to see the students  begin to put it all together and then, move on to a job, utilizing the skills that we taught them.

Finished my course. It was a unique experience for me, a student from the books only days. I never met or spoke with my teacher!  That was sure different, but we emailed and she had a communication program set up in the Angel system through which the course was done at IRSC. There was some interaction via comments between students, but again… we never met.  What a different experience that was.  Oh… I got an ‘A.’
